  • 49 - Form

The 49 form takes a bit of time to learn. Be patient with yourself. Think of all the things that are worth it in your life, the things you love doing. They took time to learn, didn't they? You probably are still growing into them. In fact, you probably would not be doing them if they weren't challenging you in some way every day. Approach learning the form from that perspective. You will grow into it.

  • Principles

The Tai Chi Alignment Principles consist of 13-bullet points on how to the body feels when you are in the flow. The first eight refer to the body. The last five are more general and apply to how you feel. Please note that none of these principles are supposed to be read in the "physical" sense. They are energetic principles. The danger is to be too literal in our interpretation.

  • Practice

Set up a consistent time of the day when you practice. Soon your body will be craving the time you spend doing tai chi. In the morning it works well to start with a meditation and then gently start moving. In the evening, you might want to reverse that . For support in your practice, we invite you to come to Alice Keck -Park Memorial Gardens every Friday at 8:00 am . There you will find yourself in the company of other tai chi practicioners that will happily share their practice with yours.
